The Guild of Embers — A Living Chronicle

In a world shaped by chance encounters and quiet heroics, the Guild of Embers stands as a gathering place for adventurers of all paths.
Some arrive seeking glory.
Some seek coin.
Others simply seek a table, a story, and companions willing to brave the unknown.
The Guild does not measure worth by fame or title, but by action. Every quest taken, every danger faced, and every life helped becomes another ember added to the flame—proof that even small sparks can light the dark.
What follows are the recorded adventures of those who answered the call.

Prologue: The Day the Embers Were Lit

Game 1
Three travelers arrived in Baldur’s Gate after long journeys on the road. Like many before them, they had come seeking the Guild of Embers, a guild known across the land for brave deeds and hard-won victories. Each hoped to earn a place among its ranks.
Their first day in the city was not a peaceful one. Panic broke out near the inns as alarms rang through the streets. Kobolds had launched an attack, setting buildings on fire and spreading fear throughout Baldur’s Gate. Smoke filled the air as the city burned.
Some of the travelers chose to stand and help. They fought alongside the city guard and members of the Guild of Embers, pushing back the attackers and helping civilians escape danger. Fires were battled as fiercely as blades, and the struggle lasted through the night. By morning, the city still stood, though badly damaged.
Those who helped defend the city were brought before the Guild of Embers and welcomed as initiates. Soon after, they were given their first test. They were sent to assist the town guard at the southern gate, where more kobold forces had been spotted.
The fighting there was fierce. Kobolds attacked in numbers, and during the battle a powerful spirit guardian appeared. The creature caused great destruction, damaging the gate and nearby buildings. A massive explosion ended the fight, and the defenders were overwhelmed.
Days later, the wounded awoke in the infirmary. Though weak, they had survived. Baldur’s Gate began the long work of rebuilding, and the Guild answered the call once more. The initiates took on new duties to help restore the city, proving that even in defeat, the embers of courage still burned.
And so the Guild records this truth: the path to becoming a hero does not begin with victory, but with the choice to stand when others flee.
